About The Position

The Office of Events at Utah State University is dedicated to ensuring events "Exceed Expectations". The Event Host position will support Event Coordinators in managing events on the university campus, contributing to their overall success. The work schedule will involve varying hours, predominantly during nights and weekends. Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this role, and U.S. work authorization is a mandatory requirement for the entire duration of employment.

Requirements

  • U.S. work authorization is required for the duration of employment
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Excellent customer service and people skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and handle difficult situations with the public and guests in a calm & professional manner
  • Employees must maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance
  • Must have excellent written & verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer three months experience with customer service

Responsibilities

  • Assist Coordinators in all aspects of a successful event including, but not limited to: set-up/strike, A/V, equipment needs, event space, food and beverage services, parking, activities, tours, etc.
  • Serve as the day of liaison between client and Event Services to ensure a successful and safe event
  • Work with campus partners to elevate the client and their guests event experience
  • Record & report any event changes pre- and post-event
  • Other duties as assigned
