Event Captain
About The Position
We are one of Chicago’s largest full-service catering companies, accommodating weddings, galas, corporate events, and more. For nearly four decades, we have catered some of the largest events in Chicagoland and even around the country. As we approach the catering & event season, we are hiring staff to join our team to help us create experiences that will last a lifetime. As the Captain of Events, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire team of waitstaff, bartenders, and culinarians throughout the event. As Captain, it is your responsibility to provide exemplary service and support to all event guests.
Requirements
- Proven restaurant serving or waitering experience
- Attention to cleanliness and safety
- Patience and customer-oriented approach
- Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude
- Responsible and trustworthy
- Excellent communication skills
- Must have reliable transportation
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma is a plus but not required
Responsibilities
- Supervising all event staff throughout the event
- Interacting with customers/event guests
- Setting guest tables and buffet areas for service
- Recommending dishes from the menu based on guests’ tastes and preferences (if applicable)
- Delivering food to tables
- Ensuring all event guests’ needs are met within a timely manner
- Additional duties as assigned
