About The Position

The Event Audio-Visual Support Coordinator plays a vital role in the successful execution of events at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church by managing all audio-visual (AV) support needs. This position is responsible for coordinating AV resources, assigning technicians, and serving as the primary liaison between the Media & Production team and event organizers to ensure seamless support for internal and external events.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in audio-visual coordination or technical event support, preferably in a church, school, or event venue.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Working knowledge of AV systems including microphones, speakers, projectors, lighting, and video recording equipment.
  • Ability to manage multiple events and assignments with attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as events require.
  • A heart for worshipping God.
  • Commitment to the mission and ministry of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule all events requiring AV support in collaboration with the church events calendar.
  • Assign AV technicians to cover setup, live support, and breakdown for each event.
  • Maintain and update an internal AV events calendar to avoid scheduling conflicts.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Director of Production & Media.
  • Serve as the point of contact for ministries, departments, and external event organizers regarding AV needs.
  • Conduct planning meetings or consultations with event organizers to assess technical requirements.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with AV staff to ensure readiness and understanding of responsibilities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Director of Production & Media.
  • Ensure proper setup, operation, and breakdown of AV equipment before and after events.
  • Coordinate with technical staff to confirm equipment availability and functionality.
  • Support troubleshooting during live events when needed.
  • Maintain records of AV event requests, team assignments, and outcomes.
  • Provide post-event feedback to the Director of Media & Production to support continuous improvement.
