About The Position

The Event and Sponsorship Intern supports brand strategy, event execution, and community engagement efforts in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The intern is an important member of the Brand Experience team and ensures internal and external messaging aligns with Busey’s mission and values.

Requirements

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in managing timelines and budgets.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners.
• Interest in corporate events, community outreach, and brand strategy.
• Current enrollment in undergraduate program with a concentration and/or working knowledge in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support the Event Team in the planning, coordination, and execution of community events, internal functions, and sponsorship activations.
• Maintain and update event budgets, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses and alignment with financial goals.
• Assist with day-of-event logistics, including setup, staffing coordination, and on-site execution.
• Help develop and organize event-related materials, such as signage, invitations, programs, giveaways, and branded merchandise.
• Work with external vendors, venues, and community partners to ensure event needs are met on time and within budget.
• Ensure all events align with Busey’s brand standards and community values.
• Participate in post-event analysis and reporting, including tracking metrics and assessing ROI.
• Conduct market and trend research to help the Event Team identify new opportunities for engagement and brand visibility.
• Serve as a Busey Brand Ambassador, supporting internal brand consistency and community presence.
