About The Position

Republic Airways is recruiting Evening Fuelers for our shuttle bus fleet who are positive, dependable, and focused on maintaining the safety of our vehicles and associates, this role involves the nightly fueling of all buses. Taking them one at a time for refueling needs. This person would be mindful of anyone who doesn’t belong is in or around our vehicles and report any such activity. This evening fueler will also look over the vehicles as they are being taken for fuel noting anything that may need repair. This position may also be called upon to cover part of an early morning shift should another associate fail to appear. We are hiring Part-Time Evening Shuttle Bus Driver/Fueler position. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for this role At Republic Airways, you may be responsible for driving our Shuttle Buses on campus, providing transportation to and from off-site parking and between campus and off campus sites. This includes and is not limited to:

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to licensed driving requirements
  • Ability to communicate both verbal and written information to staff, guests, and drivers
  • Proven record of following state and federal motor vehicle regulations
  • Must meet Department of Transportation Physical Standards and Regulations
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, report to work regularly and on-time, and be self-motivated.
  • Must have knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
  • Must be flexible, during seasonal peak schedule changes and weekend work may occur
  • Experience in the use of computers and associated software (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Commercial Driver’s License (Indiana), Class A or B with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements and three (3) years of driving experience
  • DOT medical card
  • Will be required to undergo Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and random drug testing

Responsibilities

  • Performs nightly fueling, cleaning, and inspection of shuttle buses to maintain safety, reliability and operational readiness.
  • Conducts systematic vehicle inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety requirements, reporting any discrepancies as found.
  • Supports daily operational, ad-hoc and special event operational activities by driving routes, coordinating schedules and fueling shuttles as needed.
  • Assist Shuttle Bus Operations Manager, dispatchers, and office staff with day-to-day operations
  • Monitors service performance, answers phone calls, requests and places calls to appropriate office staff as needed to uphold timeliness, consistency, and adherence to established route schedules
  • Ensures the proper use of safety practices and procedures from Shuttle Bus Drivers, including assuring each driver makes appropriate radios calls, follows schedule/ pattern for appropriate routes, and ensures timely service.
  • Follow all company, DOT, OSHA, and other guidelines as required
  • Greeting all Team Members with appropriate greeting (“Good Morning”, “Good Afternoon, “Good Evening”).
  • Establishes and maintains clear communications with drivers and management team to ensure a consistent, superior level of customer service.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
