Evening Porter/Maintenance

At People's Express, We are looking for an experienced Evening Porter to join our team. In this role, you will move and park cars on our lot. As a porter, your duties include keeping track of parked vehicles and making sure that the parking lot is neat and presentable. To ensure success as a porter, you should exhibit safe driving skills and have experience working with c ustomers at a dealership. Ultimately, a top-notch porter is someone who can be entrusted with valuable property.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrable experience as a porter, or similar.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Working knowledge of basic car maintenance would be advantageous.
- Ability to assume responsibility for the valuable property of customers and the dealership.
- Willingness to learn and to perform a wide range of allocated tasks.
- Ability to take accurate notes regarding vehicle movements and vehicle conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work irregular business hours, including evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Work with maintenance coordinator to prioritize vehicle maintenance repairs
- Assist maintenance coordinator with strategic maintenance plans and budgeting
- Maintain accurate activity and all applicable records of vehicle related documents
- Monitor and follow maintenance schedules
- Perform maintenance repairs within scope of skills on vehicles and other machinery when necessary
- Coordinate transportation to and from repair shops
- Coordinate the picking up of supplies for repairs
- Preparation and coordination of all inspections of vehicles
- Ensure all vehicles maintain a clean and professional look in the interior and exterior
- Ensure all vehicles are safe to be operated on the road
- Keeps supervisor informed of status and informs team of any significant issues on a timely basis
- Coordinate with other maintenance technicians about their maintenance programs
- Keep good working relations with local vendors and other business partners
- Communicate with local and statewide transportation providers to be up to date on programs and tools for maintenance
