About The Position
Join our network of independent alteration professionals specializing in evening and cocktail wear. This role involves altering various formal dresses including evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and gala/black-tie dresses, as well as working with structured formal dresses that may have multiple layers, lace, beading, sequins, and linings. The position also handles requests for wedding dresses, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, suits, and other formalwear. Key aspects include conducting fittings, taking precise measurements, communicating timelines, and delivering high-quality finishing while maintaining an organized workspace.
Requirements
- Experience with women's formalwear and/or evening wear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
Responsibilities
- Alter evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and gala/black-tie dresses (hemming, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
- Work with structured formal dresses (multiple layers, lace, beading, sequins, linings)
- Conduct fittings, take precise measurements, and communicate timelines clearly
- Deliver high-quality finishing and maintain an organized workspace suitable for fittings
