About The Position
Join our network of independent alteration professionals specializing in evening and cocktail wear. This role involves altering evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and gala/black-tie dresses, including tasks such as hemming, bodice/waist adjustments, strap alterations, cup insertions, and zipper repairs. The work requires handling structured formal dresses with multiple layers, lace, beading, sequins, and linings. Professionals will conduct fittings, take precise measurements, communicate timelines clearly, and deliver high-quality finishing while maintaining an organized workspace suitable for fittings. Additionally, there will be opportunities to receive requests for wedding dresses, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, suits, and other formalwear.
Requirements
- Experience with women's formalwear and/or evening wear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
Responsibilities
- Alter evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and gala/black-tie dresses (hemming, bodice/waist, straps, cups, zippers)
