About The Position
This role is for an independent alteration professional specializing in evening and cocktail wear. The primary responsibilities include altering various formal dresses such as evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and gala/black-tie dresses, covering tasks like hemming, bodice/waist adjustments, strap alterations, cup adjustments, and zipper repairs. The professional will be expected to work with structured formal dresses that may feature multiple layers, lace, beading, sequins, and linings. Key duties also involve conducting fittings, taking precise measurements, clearly communicating timelines to clients, and ensuring high-quality finishing. Maintaining an organized workspace suitable for fittings is also required. The platform through which this role operates also receives requests for other formalwear, including wedding dresses, prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and suits.
Requirements
- Experience with women's formalwear and/or evening wear alterations
- Strong garment construction knowledge + precision measuring
- Machine + hand sewing proficiency
- Professional communication and customer service
