About The Position

This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining electrical systems of industrial establishments by performing the following duties.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience including but not limited to the following: Troubleshooting general electrical systems, control systems, PA systems, emergency lighting UPS, gas and smoke detection, gate control system, overhead door controls, building automation system, phone communication, UPS battery systems, dock control system, power monitoring system.
• Possession of current State of New York Journeyman or master electrical license.
• Understanding of 120 through 3-phase 480-volt power distribution familiarity with HVAC, pumps, chilled water systems etc.
• Familiar with current GM ESWP standards and be current with National Electrical code updates.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours and weekend assignments.
• Must be able to operate a forklift, light truck and other related motorized equipment.
• Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Connects wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses, and splices wire and insulates wire with friction tape.
• Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
