IRC opened its Seattle office in 1976 and provides a continuum of trauma informed, client centered services including intensive case management, economic empowerment, health and wellness programming, immigration legal assistance, and education support for refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable immigrants in Washington State. Job Summary: The EAHR Coordinator leads Seattle based coordination of psychological and medical evaluations through the Evaluation Alliance for Human Rights (EAHR) program. EAHR increases access to forensic medical and mental health evaluations for asylum seekers and other individuals seeking humanitarian protection who would otherwise be unable to obtain this critical evidence. The EAHR Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between referring attorneys, volunteer evaluators, and applicants; manages referrals and scheduling; supports evaluator onboarding and ongoing engagement; ensures clear, protected information sharing workflows; and maintains timely, accurate data entry. This role also recruits and supervises interns and volunteers supporting evaluation coordination, resource navigation, and administrative needs. This position is part of the Health & Wellness team and collaborates closely with the EAHR Technical Advisor and Survivors of Torture team, as well as Seattle based teams across RAI operations.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in social work, psychology, public health, law or a related field; equivalent professional experience may substitute.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience providing operational, administrative, or project coordination support in a nonprofit, social services, or healthcare setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with limited English-speaking individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective internal and external partnerships.
  • Ability to uphold strict confidentiality and safeguarding standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort learning database and secure sharing systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coordinating volunteers or managing volunteer driven programs.
  • Familiarity with trauma informed practices and working with survivors of torture, conflict, or displacement.
  • Knowledge of issues impacting refugees, asylum seekers, and other immigrant communities in the U.S.
  • Lived experience as an immigrant, refugee, or asylum seeker is a strong asset.
  • Fluency or proficiency in a language commonly spoken by EAHR clients (e.g., Spanish, Dari, Pashto, French, Arabic, Swahili, Kinyarwanda).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for Seattle area volunteer evaluators and referring legal partners.
  • Review referrals for appropriateness, completeness, and alignment with EAHR criteria.
  • Coordinate scheduling of medical and psychological evaluations, including interpretation services.
  • Facilitate secure transfer of applicant information, primarily through approved platforms (e.g., Box).
  • Organize and coordinate the work of the EAHR coordination team, create/maintain systems that support effective team coordination.
  • Remain on call during evaluations to troubleshoot issues and support both evaluators and applicants.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and provide ongoing support to volunteer evaluators in collaboration with EAHR national staff.
  • Maintain engagement and ensure volunteers remain current on required program protocols, trainings, and policies.
  • Supervise interns and volunteers supporting evaluation logistics, resource navigation, or other program functions.
  • Conduct consistent data entry and record keeping in EAHR databases and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality, safeguarding policies, and all IRC data protection standards.
  • Identify trends, challenges, and opportunities to improve program operations and elevate them to leadership.
  • Contribute to network wide best practices, SOP improvement, and quarterly training initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Seattle Health & Wellness teams, Survivors of Torture and broader IRC Seattle teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, evaluators, interpreters, and legal organizations.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and Communities of Practice relevant to trauma informed, culturally responsive service delivery.
