Overview: The EUC Hardware Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing the physical and remote operations of the End User Compute hardware lab. This role ensures the lab environment is optimized for hardware testing, automation, and remote support, enabling smooth delivery of software and hardware solutions across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities: Lab Management & Connectivity o Maintain and manage the physical lab environment, ensuring all systems, devices, and connectivity are operational. o Oversee hardware inventory and ensure accurate tracking of all assets. o Manage remote connectivity solutions (e.g., KVM) to support distributed teams. Automation & Testing o Design, install, and operate automation tools and processes for hardware validation. o Execute performance benchmarking (e.g., PCMark) during hardware model changes. o Assess system impact of major software changes through synthetic user transactions and long-term stress testing. Inventory & Collaboration o Maintain accurate inventory of lab assets and coordinate with L4 SMEs on hardware quantities, connectivity, and lab requirements. Support for Remote Teams o Provide technical support to remote application packagers and software delivery teams. o Ensure system uptime and stability through proactive maintenance and automation for device refresh with clean images. o Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues promptly. Environment Maintenance o Maintain a tidy, organized, and professional lab environment that meets operational and safety standards. Hardware and Software issue support o Assist L3/4 teams diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software level issues
