About The Position

Common Hardware Group (CHG) is the development organization within Cisco. Be part of the Service Provider Hardware team inside Cisco’s Common Hardware Group (CHG). This team works on the Cisco 8000 product line both modular and fixed platforms. The team works on exciting new development for the Cisco 8000 product line, based on Cisco’s Silicon One ASIC. You will work with a diverse group composed of the brightest problem solvers and innovators in the Hardware Development Team located in San Jose. The team is responsible for the bring-up and testing of Prototype hardware of the next generation of Cisco 8000 products. Collaborate with Hardware Design and other functional groups to develop, bring up and test Prototype hardware. Complete bring-up and test next generation hardware. Work closely with multi-functional teams including Hardware Design, ASIC team, Diags, manufacturers and vendors. Track prototypes distribute across functional groups and geographies. Repair and Upgrade HW Prototypes in the validation process. Fixing hardware failures to component level

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2yrs+ of testing and troubleshooting of Cisco networking hardware or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in debugging & diagnostic methodology, hardware debugging essentials.
  • Experience in hardware blocks & subsystems and Network Communication Equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Able to read schematics and PCB layouts.
  • Proficiency in defining tests, setting up, and working with laboratory tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, data acquisition, calipers, etc.)
  • Experienced in configuration and operation of Ixia traffic generators.
  • Experienced with Cisco IOS XR and Cisco CLI

Responsibilities
