The Hardware Technician is responsible for providing support, training and troubleshooting for desktop/laptop/tablet computers and associated desktop hardware, software applications, operating systems and network connectivity while maintaining a commitment to excellent customer service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following: Software and hardware troubleshooting and configuration for desktop/laptop/tablet computers, such as printer issues, drive mapping, desktop-level AnyConnect/Direct Access issues, machine imaging, virus and spyware removal. Managing desktops/laptops/tablets using SCCM and Intune. Troubleshooting desktop wireless issues. Asset tracking and disposal for personal computers. Contribute to the sharing of knowledge and continuous improvement of Technology Services teams by creating, using and sharing knowledge base articles. The ability to gauge a user’s functional or technical abilities and to adjust your communications with them appropriately. Participate as a member of project teams, as needed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Other duties as assigned. COMPETENCIES: Education/ Experience Associates degree in related field preferred High school diploma, or equivalent required 2 years’ experience as a Service Desk Professional or Desktop Support Analyst Language Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent telephone manner Must have good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Computer Skills Knowledge of office applications (Microsoft Office, etc.), security software (anti-virus, anti-spyware) and Internet client programs (Web browsers, e-mail clients, etc.).
