About The Position

Currently seeking a remote ETL/Data Integration Developer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ETL/Data Integration Developer will design, develop, and implement data integration solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Extract, Transform and Load, and (ETL) processes, a deep understanding of data architecture, and experience working in a collaborative Agile environment. The candidate must reside within the continental US. Position is 100% Remote Monday - Friday 8AM to 5PM EST.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Certification in data integration tools or cloud platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience in ETL development and data integration projects.
  • Proficiency in AWS Cloud tools/products.
  • Strong experience with SQL, relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server), and data modeling.
  • Knowledge of ETL patterns and best practices for data processing.
  • Knowledge of x12
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data services such as AWS Glue.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and optimize complex data workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Federal IT projects or large-scale data migration initiatives.
  • Experience in Healthcare
  • Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or R for data transformations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data across diverse systems and platforms.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Develop and optimize data pipelines for efficient data movement and transformation, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Build data integration workflows using tools available in the AWS suite of cloud applications.
  • Perform data validation, profiling, and cleansing to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Implement best practices for data integration, security, and governance, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues, providing ongoing support for production systems.
  • Document data flows, system processes, and technical specifications to support development and maintenance.
  • Work with and transform x12 healthcare claims related transactions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.
