As an Ethnic Segment Specialist for Independent Food Service Sales, you will cultivate relationships and develop new business and customers, helping them to achieve their goals and, in return, yours! This position will reside in: Houston, TX. Ethnic Segment Specialist At Gordon Food Service, our customers come first. As an Ethic Segment Specialist Identifies divisional and regional multicultural/ ethnic customer targets, develops a process to maintain visibility and builds relationships with decision makers to foster future business opportunities. Serves as the go-to food service industry subject matter expert for our multicultural/ethnic Independent and Regional Segments.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma/GED is required
  • 3 or more years of prior sales, business, or food service experience
  • Maintaining a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record
  • Ability to obtain your food safety certification

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or Marketing, and/or culinary certificate preferred

Responsibilities

  • Market Strategy: Partner with leadership to define and execute long-range growth plans and marketing strategies for the multicultural food service segment.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Identify and secure profitable new business opportunities that align GFS service capabilities with customer value drivers.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain high-level visibility with key decision-makers and multicultural industry influencers.
  • Consultative Sales: Create and deliver professional presentations and sustainable value propositions tailored to prospective customers.
  • Financial Negotiation: Apply profitability models and pricing strategies to negotiate contracts and ensure a balanced, profitable portfolio.
  • Segment Advocacy: Act as the primary subject matter expert, representing GFS at industry events and trade shows to demonstrate our value proposition.
  • Operational Onboarding: Lead the transition of new accounts to Sales Representatives, ensuring a seamless and successful customer onboarding experience.
  • Internal Mentorship: Provide training and expert guidance to internal sales teams on segment-specific challenges and emerging market trends.
  • Market Intelligence: Synthesize industry data and competitive landscapes to advise on the refinement of GFS products and services.
