The Elevator Support Unit (ESU) group is currently looking for a Manager Production Planning Scheduler 2!  The selected candidate will support ESU, managing and overseeing numerous HM&E (Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical) projects and provide expert solutions for shipboard alterations and installations in the accomplishment of fleet modernization. The selected candidate may be required to travel to shipyards and military bases located around the country and abroad when not assigned to a local project. Travel and lodging expenses are covered by the company and per diem will be provided based on location when on travel. This is a full-time position, located in Chesapeake, VA.

Requirements

  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Must have experience as a shipboard marine electronic/electrical trades specialty with 10 or more years of shipboard maintenance and repair experience.
  • Must be able to read and interpret equipment and systems ship drawings and ship technical documents and manuals.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing Advance Weapons Elevators and associated Equipment.
  • Experience in coordinating and supervising personnel effort in accomplishing shipboard repairs specifically on the following systems: Aircraft Elevator, Advanced Weapons Elevator, Stores Elevator Mechanical & Electrical.
  • Prior experience being closely involved with practical aircraft carrier, maintenance availability, procedures, work integration administration and maintenance scheduling.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills as well as experience communicating with senior level Ship’s Force and government personnel.
  • Must be able to assess and proactively address potential production and schedule issues.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance.
  • Must possess in-depth knowledge of engineering drawings/data reading practices (MIL-STD-1000), being capable to perform logistic technical evaluation of equipment and material presented in these drawings.
  • Must be computer literate with the ability to be comfortable and proficient at a computer terminal manipulating data.  Candidate knowledge in MICROSOFT EXCEL and ACCESS is a definite plus.
  • Must have experience working with Aircraft Elevators, Deck Edge Doors, and Hangar Bay Division Doors.
  • Knowledge of how to capture Objective Quality Evidence (OQE), Technical Work Documents (TWD), Controlled Technical Work Documents (CTWD), and Work Authorization Forms (WAF’s).
  • Must have full working knowledge of procedures and practices regarding operation of Alteration Installation Teams/Customer Contracted Team (AIT/CCT).
  • Must have experience developing documentation for shipboard/industrial production projects utilizing technical work packages, labor/manpower (hours and industrial trades), material estimates, subcontractors & outside services, travel and/or other direct charges.
