About The Position

Are you ready to bring your estimating skills to a team that values precision and innovation? At Martin Sprocket & Gear, we’re dedicated to producing quality mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings with excellence, and we're looking for skilled Estimators like you! What You’ll Do: Complete hands-on training: Participate in an extensive, hands-on training program to build in-depth product and process knowledge. Respond to sales team requests: Handle inbound requests from the sales team regarding product, quote, delivery, and pricing information. Price components: Configure, review, and price components for both standard Martin Sprocket & Gear power transmission products and made-to-order OEM components. Process quotations and orders: Prepare quotes and analyze quote data efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment utilizing Microsoft AX dynamics Team Collaboration: Collaborate with manufacturing plants and other locations throughout the quotation-to-order process. Review customer specifications: Analyze customer specification packets and prints, working with the engineering team to provide optimal solutions and designs. Provide technical support: Offer both technical and non-technical support to inside and outside sales teams, along with staff members, regarding product usage, operation, and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Education: A bachelor's degree is preferred, with a focus on engineering being ideal.
  • Sales and customer service experience: 1-2 years of experience in sales or customer service, with a background in estimating or time study a plus.
  • Attention to detail and communication skills: Must be detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Customer service commitment: Demonstrates an unyielding dedication to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Team-oriented approach: Adopts a collaborative mindset to achieve shared goals within the team.
  • Mechanical aptitude: Must possess a mechanical aptitude or technical inclination to understand product specifications.
  • Self-motivation and drive: Self-motivated with the determination to succeed and achieve objectives.
  • Problem-solving skills: Capable of independently evaluating situations, solving problems, and making informed decisions.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure: Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Computer proficiency and organizational skills: Strong skills in both computer usage, specifically an ERP system -AX Dynamics, and organizational efficiency.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn: Energetic, positive, and eager to grow and expand skill sets.
  • Policy adherence: Must be able to work scheduled hours and comply with the company’s timekeeping and all other policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience: Related to gear drives, sprockets, sheaves, and motion control technologies preferred.
