About The Position

We are seeking an Estimator to support our team at FieldTurf, a world leader in artificial turf with over 25,000 installations worldwide. Trusted at every level, FieldTurf is at the surface of NFL and MLS stadiums, renowned collegiate programs, elite high schools, and local community venues. Focused on innovation with purpose, FieldTurf is helping Change the Game for athletes and facility owners. The Estimator supports FieldTurfs’ Project Management team. Reporting to the Regional Manager of Customer Operations, the incumbent will be responsible for planning, direct, monitoring, and coordinating projects in the bidding phase. Leading the bidding phase of construction projects. This role is responsible for coordinating multiple bids simultaneously, developing accurate and competitive estimates, managing risk, and ensuring all bid requirements are met on time and in compliance with regulations. This role follows a hybrid schedule and may be based out of any of the following offices: Auburn Hills, MI; Calhoun, GA; or Tualatin, OR. (One position available) While the role may be based in a different location, working hours will align with West Coast business hours. FieldTurf is part of Tarkett Sports. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and/or training (or equivalent combination).
  • Experience in the construction and/or turf industry is a strong asset.
  • Basic accounting knowledge.
  • Strong general construction knowledge (drawings, specifications, materials, and methods).
  • Solid understanding of bid preparation, quantity take-offs, subcontractor procurement, and bid-closing processes.
  • Ability to analyze market conditions, business trends, and competitive information.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused mindset.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and effective in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Able to work West Coast hours ( Pacific Time)

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate multiple bids within an assigned territory.
  • Define scope, schedule, and budget for bids, including quotes, qualifications, document control, negotiations, and compliance.
  • Manage the contract process in collaboration with the Project Manager and clients.
  • Review plans, specifications, and project scope.
  • Perform material take-offs and confirm synthetic turf pricing.
  • Request and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes; pre-qualify subcontractors.
  • Review general and supplemental conditions and identify scope risks with mitigation recommendations.
  • Prepare estimates and profitability targets with support from leadership.
  • Submit RFIs to Owners and Architects/Engineers as required.
  • Chair weekly bid tracking calls with regional teams.
  • Maintain bid activity metrics and reporting.
  • Prepare and submit final bid packages.
  • Assist with bid documentation including schedules, narratives, scope clarifications, alternates, unit pricing, and key personnel information.
  • Lead bid reviews and verify completion of required documentation, permits, and local compliance items
