Major Responsibilities: The Cost Estimator is a hands-on quoting and cost estimating position, responsible for on-time completion of customer quote activity. The position will work collaboratively with sales, customer service, and production to develop price quotations for folding carton packaging.

Requirements

Encore, WebCenter, Trello, Teams, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Microsoft Word.
Basic knowledge of Corrugated/Folding Carton packaging, related machine capabilities, Design and Pre-Press.
High School Graduate, AA/BA degree desirable
Equivalent to 5 years in estimating experience.

Position involves ability to operate office related equipment and computers.
Individual will sit majority of the time, must be capable of walking to various plant locations and offices in other departments.

Responsibilities

Accurate and timely processing of layouts, routings and quotes to maintain best possible lead time and equitable return for the company.
Create quotes in Encore while considering size, print specifications, number of printing colors required, etc.
Determine quote level and priority to allocate appropriate time and resources.
Determine costs of producing products and provide quote information for sales to present to the customer.
Document on the quote of all exceptions & terms for the customer.
Address all customer specifications in the quote.
Process revisions on request for changes to an existing project previously quoted.
Utilize quote metrics and contribute to the continuous improvement of the quoting process.
Consult with necessary personnel to formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with sales, customer service and all other interdepartmental team members.
Work with procurement teams, pre-press, production and venders.
Enter data and maintain organized filing system for all quotations.
Build Specs in Spec maintenance.
Monitor’s any backlogs in estimating using web center and emailed request.
Build specs for the customer service team for order processing.
Work with their supervisor on any prioritization needs.
Reviews and complete any open quotes request in web center.
Review prior month quoting activity with supervisor.
Participate in New Item Meetings as needed.
