About The Position
At Moss Utilities, we specialize in underground utilities installations across the DFW Metroplex. Our project experience includes commercial, single-family residential, multi-family residential, and public works infrastructure. Founded in 2016, Moss Utilities carries forward a family legacy in Dallas-Fort Worth utility construction dating back to the early 1900s. Estimator Position Overview An Estimator should have heavy civil construction skills and an experience in estimating commercial & private development projects. Ideally, will have experience with wet utilities construction that includes water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, concrete structures, duct bank, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred (Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar)
- 1 - 3+ years heavy civil estimating
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines
Nice To Haves
- HCSS/Planswift/Bluebeam Experience Preferred
Responsibilities
- Estimating self-performed projects which typically range up to 20 million dollars; including pricing labor, equipment, and material costs.
- Working knowledge of construction assemblies and all project phases.
- Ability to produce detailed, accurate estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings.
- Ability to assess site exposures/construction risks and be able to appropriately analyze cost and reflect these in an estimate.
- Identify constructability issues through the estimating process.
- Identify and propose value-engineering alternatives.
