About The Position

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for evaluating and determining the approximate costs of construction and developing an Opinion of Probable Cost (estimate). This role requires substantial experience to price significant and prominent projects within the industry, and a deep understanding of construction trades, product types, building techniques, material, labor costs, and industry standards. Requirements

5+ years in construction or a related field, and/or a bachelor’s or master’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
Thorough knowledge of multiple product types and trades.
Proficient in on screen take-off software, Bluebeam, Excel, Word, Outlook, Zoom, AutoCAD (viewing).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills with the capacity to work well under pressure.
Proficient in construction estimating software and tools, reviewing and interpreting construction documents, reading and writing of technical specifications.
Logical, objective, inquisitive, punctual, independent, perceptive, accomplished, resourceful, persistent, dedicated, pragmatic, and reliable.

Nice To Haves

Professional certifications in construction estimating or project management are a plus.

Responsibilities

Review project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work.
Analyze project proposals to determine costs and prepare detailed estimates.
Communicate with project team to clarify project details.
Identify potential cost-saving measures and propose alternatives to clients.
Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits.
Collaborating with other departments and providing occasional support to project managers during the construction phase.
Work independently on medium and large projects.
