The Estimator position involves determining pricing for customers based on requirements, GNC capabilities, and vendor limitations, creating estimates for quotes and orders, and updating existing estimates. This role collaborates with sales, design, production, fulfillment, and customer service to offer problem alternatives while adhering to GNC-Chippewa Falls service, quality, and efficiency standards.

Requirements

  • Effective use of the following computer programs: Imaginera Operating System, Intranet, Microsoft Word, SharePoint, and Microsoft Excel programs.

Responsibilities

  • Determines correct pricing for customers by creating an estimate for each item quoted or ordered, while following specified pricing guidelines.
  • Researches and determines the style of the container, the machine routing and vendor pricing, by consulting with tech services, design department, production supervisors, fulfillment and vendors.
  • Determines accurate fulfillment estimates/quotes by understanding all steps for the assembly process, time and materials needed, and number of people; which may include time studies, if necessary.
  • Creates accurate estimates by entering the customer, board, miscellaneous components, machine routing, and miscellaneous account required information into the computer.
  • Solicits pricing from outside approved vendors for cutting dies, farm-out products and miscellaneous materials.
  • Receives and answers inquiries and questions from internal departments, vendors and account managers.
  • Updates any changes on existing estimates and/or quotes.
  • Calls, faxes, and/or mails corrugated pricing/quotes to account managers or customers.
  • Checks co-workers’ (including other estimators’) work and processes quotes.
  • Obtains miscellaneous component pricing, fulfillment cost and cutting die quotations from approved vendors.
  • Maintains/obtains knowledge of existing and new equipment (machine centers) in order to provide accurate updates to machine center specifications and routing.
  • Helps customer service and other departments with estimating questions or problems.
  • Remains current on changes in policies, procedures, and product information.
  • Attends authorized training programs.
  • Knows, understands, and follows all rules and office policies and procedures.
  • Promotes a positive environment, supporting the GNC teamwork concept.
  • Assists customer service manager with special projects as assigned.
