About The Position

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential home building projects. This role is crucial in ensuring project feasibility, budget adherence, and overall financial success.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in estimating or cost analysis
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Detail-oriented
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Strong problem-solving abilities

Nice To Haves

• Construction Management or Accounting background preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience preferably in the residential home building industry

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for residential home building projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
• Develop and submit competitive bids for projects, ensuring all requirements and specifications are met.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering drawings to determine material and labor requirements.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
• Assist in the development and management of project budgets, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
• Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
• Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation.
• Prepare and present regular reports on estimating activities, project costs, and budget variances.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the estimating function.
