About The Position

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing project drawings and specifications and quantifying the necessary labor, materials, and equipment required to complete the project. You will utilize technological tools and software to perform quantity take-offs and assign these quantities to their respective grouping within an overall building estimate template. You will work with internal team members as well as subcontractors and trade partners to develop a complete estimate a various phase of design (i.e. conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documents). In this role, you will support construction operations with subcontractor outreach, scope review, and overall development of a Guaranteed Maximum Price.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or equivalent field experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management or preconstruction
  • Understanding of project estimating software and tools
  • Strong ability to read and understand construction project plans
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Experience with budgeting and cost control
  • Ability to proficiently convey technical information in both written and oral correspondence
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Flexibility to travel on short notice for urgent business needs, to attend meetings, trainings, and events. 
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance during business trips. 
  • Compliance with company travel policies and procedures. 
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer, phone, printer, scanner, and other office equipment.
  • Visual acuity for detailed work and computer use
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds of files, documents, and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Develop detailed project estimates and schedules
  • Coordinate and carry out individual tasks within the overall project teams and resources
  • Monitor project progress and adjust as needed
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and clients
  • Prepare and present project estimate reports to senior management and clients.
  • Perform quantity take-offs using 2D based software as well as 3D model-based quantity surveys.
  • Develop scopes of work and bid tabulation sheets to support functional review and leveling of subcontractor proposals.
  • Develop and format project estimate templates to support the owner requested analyses.
  • Perform subcontractor outreach activities to support bid participation.
  • Other duties as assigned
