WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION: At nVent Management Company, you’ll join a collaborative, customer-focused team based onsite in Chattanooga, TN. As an Estimator , you will support high-volume electrical and structural estimating activities while working closely with customers and internal partners. This is a role crafted to build strong estimating fundamentals within a fast-paced construction environment, while contributing to our world-class standards and business goals.

Requirements

  • We are seeking motivated, diligent individuals with a strong interest in electrical construction and estimating.
  • To be successful in this role, you should bring the following qualifications and attributes:
  • Two-year technical degree and/or equivalent experience in engineering, construction, science/technology, or business, preferred.
  • Foundational knowledge of electrical systems and construction practices.
  • Familiarity with electrical and building codes such as IBC, NEC, and NFPA.
  • Excellent ability to engage and collaborate with customers and internal groups (Project Managers, engineers, sales).
  • Ability to manage fluctuating workloads in a high-volume quoting environment.
  • Interest in long-term growth, with potential future pathways into Project Management or advanced estimating roles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in estimating, construction, or a related technical role is preferred.
  • Experience entering and maintaining project data within a CRM system, preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working within spreadsheet-based tools, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project and bid data within the Salesforce CRM, including bid values, dates, and workload tracking.
  • Monitor workload and assigned quotes in Salesforce to ensure timely and accurate turnaround.
  • Download, coordinate, and upload bidding and customer documentation.
  • Review specifications, drawings, and contract documents to fully understand project scope, requirements, and pricing impacts.
  • Conduct electrical and structural material take-offs to aid monthly quoting efforts (contributing to roughly $10M in quotes per month).
  • Run quotes through a proprietary, Excel-based quote tool to generate proposal outputs.
  • Prepare detailed proposal letters or bid forms for customer submission.
  • Submit Requests for Information (RFIs) related to estimating questions by established deadlines.
  • Identify key project considerations (schedule requirements, risks, special conditions, etc.) and communicate findings to sales and project collaborators.
  • Support updates to estimates upon award and assist with transition of information to the project team.
  • Review purchase orders, subcontracts, and contracts for accuracy and alignment with quoted scope.
