Estimator / Material Procurement
About The Position
Progressive Industrial and Structural Mechanical Systems, two well established Industrial and Shipyard contractors in the Hampton Roads area, are currently looking for a Material Procurement & Project Estimator. Previous experience in shipyard estimating and a crucial eye for detail are a must. Industrial and fabrication shop experience is a plus. Job duties include but are not limited to: Bid and Proposal/Estimating - Fixed and T&M, site visits, pull and price material Procurement - Direct material ordering and purchasing, Receive and confirm materials, create, and maintain material status reports Labor estimating Purchasing and Direct Material ordering for all SWRs Receiving and arranging for the storage of materials used for jobs
Requirements
- Bidding and Estimating for a Shipyard Contractor or Subcontractor
- An understanding of Contractor manning, equipment, and craft jobs (i.e., welding, machining, electrical, etc.) is a must, prior experience in the field a big plus
- Procurement experience and metals procurement
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and SOLIDWORKS (drafting)
- Exceptional organization skills and a desire to create and develop new processes
- Previous experience in shipyard estimating and a crucial eye for detail are a must
Nice To Haves
- Industrial and fabrication shop experience
