About The Position

The Estimator in Training works closely with an Estimator to learn how to effectively diagnose and prepare all estimates for repair in an accurate, thorough, and profitable manner, adhering to insurance partner and company guidelines. This role is also responsible for communicating the value Gerber provides to customers, aiming for a high closed sales ratio.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED required
Prior customer service experience
Must currently possess or successfully complete 16 I-CAR units within the first 12 months of employment
Excellent communication skills
Computer literate
Good decision-making ability and sound judgment
Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel and crouch in providing an accurate estimate of a vehicle’s damage
Must possess clear vision in providing an accurate estimate of a vehicle’s damage

Nice To Haves

4-6 years related work experience
Photo-imaging software experience preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft products is preferred

Responsibilities

Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
Greet customer at repair drop off and build rapport
Map damage with customer (previous, current loss, WOW opportunities)
Handle repair mapping and take initial photographs
Upload photos and notes to CCC One, along with arrival time, etc.
Notify production that vehicle has arrived and place in production queue
Verify estimate during teardown
Finalize estimate using proper Repair Planning Template
Work with repair team to make sure notations on windshield are correct and complete
Put together final parts list
Use Promise Date Caculator to set promise date
Call customer to review estimate and promise date
Update customer regularly (with frequency, according to standards determined by management)
Participate in and contribute to the regularly scheduled production meetings
Call customers whose cars will be completed the next day
Schedule with customer
Follow up with technicians after vehicle tear down and make adjustments to estimate if needed
Assist insurance adjusters with damage reports, etc., and provide service to insurance claim re-inspectors
