About The Position

OBE contributes architectural glass and building products to projects ranging from apartments and hospitals to universities and retail spaces. With over 6,500 employees and more than 80 manufacturing and distribution facilities across five countries, OBE's work significantly impacts how people live, work, heal, learn, and play. The Estimator II role specifically focuses on US Aluminum product lines, including storefronts, entrances, window walls, curtain walls, and hurricane/blast-resistant solutions. This position is ideal for an organized, self-starting individual capable of managing multiple projects and prioritizing workload, offering a valuable opportunity to build a career within the Estimating Department.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years prior experience estimating mid-size and larger glazing projects from architectural drawings and specifications.
• Ability to read, interpret, & understand architectural drawings and specifications and provide detailed take offs and estimates that incorporate different building envelope solutions.
• Experience using electronic estimating tools, including estimating software, on-screen take-off tools and Excel spread sheets.
• Knowledge of aluminum glazing systems & their applications.
• Understanding of glass, composite metal panels, and other infill options as well as their applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed estimates to our customers in a timely manner.
• Work from architectural drawings and specifications, shop drawings or elevation take-offs.
• Follow up on estimates and provide feedback concerning market pricing levels.
• Provide consultation, coordination, and assistance to our customers, sales force and internal personnel.
• Maintain detailed and organized records of bid documents, correspondence and other project specific information.
• Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of this job.
