SUMMARY: The AV Estimator role is responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for audio-visual (AV) systems integration projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AV systems, construction processes, and project documentation, and will work closely with sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure successful project bids and proposals.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in AV estimating, systems integration, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems including video conferencing, digital signage, control systems, and structured cabling.
  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, Excel) and CAD or system design tools is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., AVIXA, InfoComm, BICSI).

Nice To Haves

  • CTS certification or equivalent industry credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and RFPs to determine AV system requirements.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates including equipment, labor, materials, subcontractors, and other project-related expenses.
  • Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to develop scope of work and system design concepts.
  • Prepare and present professional proposals and bid packages.
  • Maintain and update pricing databases and vendor relationships to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client consultations as needed.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
  • Track and analyze historical data for continuous improvement of estimating accuracy.
  • Assist in project handoff to operations and project management teams.
