About The Position

Estimator - HVAC Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Review drawings, specifications, and owner documents to establish scope of work contents for estimate and other respective deliverables and prepare documents for specific deliverables. Complete quantity takeoffs and summations of materials (raw/prime cost) in estimating system Attend pre-bid and project meetings and participate in the presentation of project estimates to project Owners and other partners. May lead internal and external meetings. Prepare RFI’s and collaborate with Crete partners to confirm document interpretation and participate in determination of strategy Own the preparation of all estimating and target value design functions for project including establishing reporting formats, assignment of areas of estimating responsibility, compiling estimates, preparation and oversight of project estimates working in close coordination for each project with account managers. Prepare information for turnovers and conceptual estimates and cost models as requested. Review all estimates for accuracy and correctness Track material, labor, subcontractor, and rental costs for trends Keep an orderly inventory of estimates and proposals including deliverables and contract exhibits and attachments required for construction.. Keep current with new products, pricing and trends in industry to include working knowledge of and experience of all labor rates, self perform productivities and crew mixes. Assist with conceptual design and pricing efforts as required Assist project managers in the continuous assessment of project risks and opportunities and how it relates to the overall project cost. This includes reviewing monthly cost reports and labor reports and identifying variances from original estimate. Ability to mentor, guide, lead and train less experienced Estimators and Jr. Estimators to assist in their development.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Estimating, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience
  • Minimum 7 to 10 year's construction operations and estimation experience, including exposure to materials management and MEP project operations.
  • Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
  • Expertise with building/estimating techniques and software: Procore, AutoCAD, REVIT
  • Proven ability to handle quick turnarounds with a positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
