About The Position

CTI is Building A Better Future For Our Customers, Our People and Our Communities! SUMMARY Concrete Technologies, Inc. (CTI) is looking for a self-motivated and experienced Concrete Estimator for both our Commercial and Heavy Highway divisions. Estimators are responsible for all aspects of the construction bidding process including sales, estimating, tracking, subcontractor solicitation, labor and productivity analysis, and project costing for Commercial and Heavy Highway concrete projects. Estimators have excellent communication skills and always represent the company in a friendly and professional manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and related work experience required, or 2-4 years' technical school.
  • 3+ years' estimating experience, required, in the construction industry; concrete construction, preferred.
  • Proficient mathematical skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to create documents with zero grammatical, punctuation, spelling, or numerical errors.
  • Able to work well under time constraints.
  • Able to work well in a team environment.
  • Communicate effectively and confidently with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate, concise, and competitive bids and estimates before deadlines.
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of the market and the competition.
  • Secure multiple vendor/subcontractor quotes, with negotiated pricing, for each division of a bid.
  • Project sales and follow up on bids/estimates including Iowa DOT and Municipal paving projects.
  • Endeavors to maintain crew schedules at full capacity.
  • Read, interprets, and analyzes construction plans for costing with extreme accuracy.
  • Strive for continual improvement and efficiency of the estimating system and process.
  • Conducts detailed job cost analysis and review.
  • Understand current market prices of labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors as they fluctuate with complete accuracy.
  • Maintain a database of vendors and subcontractors.
  • Effectively passes jobs to project management for efficient production after sale.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures by wearing appropriate safety equipment and use excellent safety practices while visiting job sites per CTI policies, OSHA, Federal, and State laws and regulations.
  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
