The Commercial Estimator plays a key role in bringing projects to life by partnering closely with Sales, Production, and Operations. This role is highly collaborative and focused on turning project details into accurate, build-ready estimates that support successful execution. You’ll participate in Pre-Project Planning sessions, contribute estimating insights, and develop detailed cost estimates for a variety of commercial roofing projects. Clear communication, follow-through, and teamwork are essential, as you’ll regularly collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and leadership across a multi-state footprint.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience estimating low-slope commercial roofing projects
  • Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems and materials
  • Experience with quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in Excel and estimating/digital takeoff software
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and virtual environment
  • Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

  • Field experience in commercial roofing
  • Xactimate experience
  • Experience with additional roofing systems
  • Knowledge of manufacturer warranty requirements
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Pre-Project Planning sessions to review scope, risks, and project details
  • Develop accurate estimates including takeoffs, labor, materials, equipment, and risk factors
  • Ensure pricing aligns with company margin targets and standards
  • Obtain and confirm pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
  • Revise estimates as scope or project details evolve
  • Support proposal development and insurance documentation (Xactimate as needed)
  • Prepare organized estimate documentation for handoff to Production
  • Communicate regularly with Sales, Production, Project Managers, and leadership
  • track estimate progress and maintain organized files.
