Job Summary: Estimating Specialist will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting construction plans to determine quantities of construction for earthwork projects. Take-Off Technicians will work closely with estimators in making sure they get accurate quantities in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • At least one year of estimating experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Associates degree or Bachelors in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
  • Software experience with Agtek, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, HCSS and Trimble Business Center is a plus.

  • Must maintain an insurable driving record.
  • Ability to work within a team environment, fast paced with extreme accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Software experience with Agtek, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, HCSS and Trimble Business Center is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality job takeoffs & proposal preparation.
  • Read and fully understand project drawings, blueprints, building plans, construction contracts, engineering specifications and RFP's.
  • Review plans, soil reports, bid schedules, specification for information necessary to understand scope of work.
  • Perform material takeoffs, pre-planning earthwork phasing assignments with accuracy and on-time.
  • Assist with preparation of estimates on conceptual, design-build, lump sum and unit price contracts for both private and public bids.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings.
  • Analyze and compile estimate data that impact the cost of labor, materials and equipment requirements to ensure a high quality and timely estimate.
