FUNCTION: The Estimating Specialist estimates, provides building material take off information, and assists in specifying engineered product through knowledgeable engineering in accordance to client needs and Sunpro business objectives.

Requirements

General construction experience.
Knowledge and understanding of Engineered Wood Products and engineering principles.
Knowledge of building material estimating process.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints.
Knowledge of current local codes associated with building material supplied by SPC.
Demonstrate initiative and reliability with minimal supervision.
Good written and oral communication skills.
3+ years of experience in residential/commercial construction industry.

Nice To Haves

Construction Management or Engineering degree preferred.
Familiarity with estimating/construction software preferred.

Responsibilities

Understand, live, and inspire others to live by the Company Values.
Designs floor systems with engineered wood products.
Provides floor layout to assist sales and customer service.
Estimate building materials requirements using approved software while ensuring conformity to standards.
Generate and provide accurate material quantities for estimating purposes.
Generate layout and/or location specific material needs for construction.
Use Bistrack Software for tracking and processing take off and estimating information.
Read and interpret blueprints.
Provide job-site support, with the aid of sales department, when requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Attend and participate in all Company sponsored training programs as required.
Adhere to all safety protocols and Company policies and procedures.
Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned.
