FUNCTION: The Estimating Specialist estimates, provides building material take off information, and assists in specifying engineered product through knowledgeable engineering in accordance to client needs and Sunpro business objectives.

Requirements

  • General construction experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Engineered Wood Products and engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of building material estimating process.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints.
  • Knowledge of current local codes associated with building material supplied by SPC.
  • Demonstrate initiative and reliability with minimal supervision.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • 3+ years of experience in residential/commercial construction industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Construction Management or Engineering degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with estimating/construction software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand, live, and inspire others to live by the Company Values.
  • Designs floor systems with engineered wood products.
  • Provides floor layout to assist sales and customer service.
  • Estimate building materials requirements using approved software while ensuring conformity to standards.
  • Generate and provide accurate material quantities for estimating purposes.
  • Generate layout and/or location specific material needs for construction.
  • Use Bistrack Software for tracking and processing take off and estimating information.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Provide job-site support, with the aid of sales department, when requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in all Company sponsored training programs as required.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and Company policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned.
