About The Position

McCorvey is one of the largest HVAC sheet metal contractors, serving Houston, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Orlando, FL. We specialize in commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and system maintenance. Position Summary McCorvey is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Estimating Keyman to support our preconstruction and estimating team. This role is critical in preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and supporting competitive bid strategies for large-scale commercial projects. In this role, you will work closely with our Manufacturing Facility Leads to gain hands-on experience in the different departments involved in fabricating ductwork. Additionally, you will rotate through fieldwork with our Journeymen to learn the installation process. Before assisting with any of our high-profile projects, this training is essential. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively to ensure accurate and timely project estimates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Rotate through different departments in our Manufacturing Facility.
• Work in the field to learn ductwork installation processes
• Perform quantity takeoffs and material pricing
• Solicit and analyze vendor and subcontractor quotes
• Support bid preparation and proposal submissions
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors
• Ensure estimates align with project scope and timelines
