Estimating Data Analyst
About The Position
As a Estimating Data Analyst for PCL Construction, Inc. in Tempe, Arizona, you’ll have the opportunity to leverage data analytics and technology to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of our estimating processes. In this role, you will analyze large datasets, develop and refine cost estimation models, and create visual dashboards and reports that translate complex data into actionable insights for project teams and leadership. Using tools such as SQL, Excel, PowerBI, Python, and AI platforms, you will help identify trends, optimize workflows, and support data-driven decision-making across our estimating and project teams.
Requirements
- degree in (mathematics, statistics, computer science, data analytics, AI)
- Technical skills in some or all of the following: SQL, Excel, PowerBI, Python, Tableau, Azure (SQL server), Co-Pilot (or other AI platforms)
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to analyze large data sets and translate into actional business insights
- Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical clients
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to represent complex data in visual dashboards
Responsibilities
- Supports estimators on preparing bids and proposals.
- Develop, maintain, and refine cost estimation models using historical data, trends, and statistical techniques.
- Create dashboards and reports to present trends and projections to leadership and owners.
- Utilize AI to optimize estimating/administrative processes.
- Assists with bid document control and documenting, organizing, and archiving all information relating to the estimate for successful transfer to the project team.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with all stakeholders including lead estimator, lead bid runner, subtrade partners and suppliers.
