About The Position

We are hiring for a full-time Estimating Assistant to work on site in our Benicia, CA office. American Civil Constructors West Coast(ACCW), established in 1987, is a Heavy Civil Construction company. We are qualified to bid and perform work for State DOT's and City & County Public Works agencies all over the United States. This is a non-union, staff level position and is part of the Estimating Department. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of relevant industry work experience and 1+ years in an office environment, preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 2+ years Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent computer skills including advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
  • Advanced website search skills
  • Proficiency with Google Earth
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Great communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Enthusiasm and the ability to multi-task and coordinate/complete your projects successfully are all essential to this job

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Bidding Software such as HCSS Heavy Bid is highly desired but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform and log regular Nationwide Bid Searches and present potential projects for bid; download new Project Plans & Specs
  • Review plans and specifications for required bid data
  • Maintain company bid list and ensure all pre-bid tasks are completed
  • Request bid bonds and ensure they’re received timely and correctly
  • Draft paper bid documents and prepare for submittal
  • Run Post-Bid Estimating Reports in our Estimating software
  • Maintain detailed historical bidding data
  • Locate and track potential upcoming projects
