About The Position

FBT Gibbons is currently searching for a full-time Paralegal to join our Tax, Benefits and Estates Practice Group in our Cincinnati office.  This role will assist our attorneys in preparing legal documents, conducting research and facilitating communication for the transfer of assets.

Requirements

• Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree with a major in paralegal studies, OR A Bachelor’s degree with an unrelated major, and have: A certificate from an ABA approved paralegal training program specializing in the area for which the candidate is being considered; or Two year’s experience in the area of specialization for which the candidate is being considered or other comparable experience; or Unique qualifications, experience, or training which fill a specific need within Frost Brown Todd LLP.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal or in other legal/tax services roles.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient using Excel, Word and other database and document assembly software.
• Must be detail oriented, efficient, and able to coordinate multifaced projects with a minimum of supervision.
• Ability to problem solve, set priorities and to ask questions when needed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with the Internal Revenue Code preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Estate Planning and Administration attorneys with relevant plans, ancillary documents, client communications, and tax documents.
• Coordinate and communicate with financial planners, Certified Public Accountants, and other outside FBT Gibbons individuals for transfer of assets during the lifetime of a client or after the death of a client.
• Conduct research related to real estate titling at various Courthouses or online searches.
• Prepare documents to transfer real estate as necessary.
• Prepare corporate documents and minute books as necessary.
• Perform document production review and indexing.
• Organize and compile client-related documentation.
• Prepare various IRS and State Level Tax Return documents, including but not limited to Federal Estate Tax Returns, Federal Gift Tax Returns, and associated state-level Returns.
• Assist with drafting of correspondence, court filings, transfer documents, and other ancillary documents.
• Maintain client related electronic files.
• Schedule conferences, client related meetings, and other court appearances.
