Kean Miller is seeking a skilled Estate Planning attorney to join our Houston downtown office. This role requires at least three years of experience in estate planning, strong communication skills, and the ability to guide clients through both routine and complex legal matters. Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an estate planning attorney, with a strong background in drafting wills and trusts
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Texas
- In-depth knowledge of estate planning, probate, and tax laws
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- The ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
- Proven track record of developing and maintaining strong client relationships
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- A commitment to providing outstanding client service
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive estate planning services, including drafting wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
- Provide strategic advice to clients on wealth preservation, tax planning, and estate administration
- Assist clients through probate proceedings and related legal processes
- Guide clients in the distribution of assets and the execution of estate plans
- Represent clients in court proceedings when required, especially in probate-related matters
- Educate clients on matters such as retirement planning, charitable donations, and insurance options
- Ensure client files are maintained accurately, organized, and up to date
- Collaborate with clients to design tailored estate plans that meet their specific goals and needs
- Experience managing client relationship independently and handling sophisticated planning needs
- Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
- Strong drafting and analytical skills
- Deep understanding of trust and estate laws and tax implications
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative environment
- Excellent organizational a time management abilities
