About The Position

General SummaryResponsible for analyzing downtime issues, providing countermeasures to prevent downtime, to improve workflow for increased productivity, to “champion” the Stamping Quality Management Program, to monitor quality trends relative to Welding and Paint, to monitor Stamping scrap and reject trends; also responsible for engineering design changes in Stamping panels, etc.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Create and Maintain New Model Stamped Parts and Stamping Part Model Changes in SAP. Assist in new vehicle launches, including raw material ordering and availability. Maintain Trial Management Log and Mill Certificates. Lead the Planning, Implementing, and Reporting Out of Material Build out projects. Conference with Purchasing Department, Hysco, Weld Department, and Production Control. Submit Build out Plan and Daily Status to all Stamping Management, GL, and TL. Provide Final Build out Report to HOD. Order and Schedule Inbound Raw materials for Current Production and Trials. Maintain SAP Ordering Scheduling Process, Analyze Hysco Shipping Performance and submit Kia Georgia required improvement goals and objectives. Effectively communicate pertinent information to all related parties, i.e., department management and team members, Quality, etc... Maintain and Update as required; documents related to Part Changes, Supplier Changes, Supplier Contacts, and Material Specification changes. Maintain Record Retention and Efficient Organization for all legally required documents and documents held for Management reference and review. Maintain Accurate “Goods Receipt” entries. Investigate Open ASN and Enter Goods Receipts when applicable. Report to Hysco any ASN reporting problems and or discrepancies. Analyze and Solve Daily Production Reporting entries. Investigate Daily Coil inventory discrepancies. Report to management and make necessary corrections. Complete a Physical Inventory at the end of each month. Analyze Month End Inventory discrepancies and carryout improvement ideas, report to management. Prepare Month End Inventory Discrepancy, Monthly Production/Receipts, Monthly Consumption/ Usage, Monthly Scrap, and related Trend Management reports for Management. Enter unreported Stamping Scrap in SAP daily. Audit Scrap bins and scrap reporting by team members. Report to Management Audit Findings. Report to Management on Monthly Basis total Scrap Loss, Scrap Percentage to Total Usage, Scrap Trend Management, and Area of Scrap Claim Trend Management. Analyze stamping defects, stamping scrap, stamping rework, coil quality management, purchased blank quality management. Maintain and report all non-conforming material to Hysco, Steel Mill Supplier and Management. Carry out; Supplier Countermeasures, Supplier Chargeback Claim, and joint improvements when necessary. Assist in Plant wide GPS: 5’s Improvement, Visual Control Improvement, Quality, Standardization, Continuous Improvement, including redesign the facility to prevent bottle necks. Participate in Plant Wide Elimination and/or Reduction of 5 forms of waste. Drive system improvements and methodology to increase productivity, reduce wait time, and maintain adequate inventory levels. Create SWIS (Standard Work Instruction Sheet) and EOL (End of Line) check sheets, making improvements as requested. Lead problem solving activities for; quality, scrap, inventory accuracy, including development of short- and long-term countermeasures. Analyze trend data using available indicators and; develop, implement, and on follow-up with countermeasures to existing production concerns. Report current projects, progress, and issues to management; prepare presentations and report. Participate in CFTs (Cross Functional Teams) and other problem-solving teams. Support Finance Department at the month end closing. Attend Kia Georgia Required Training and Departmental Meetings. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field along with two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience in the Stamping field in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Flexible schedule to work overtime, holidays and weekends as required.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and effective decision-making.
  • Ability to perform multi-tasks with multiple priorities within a designated time frame.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, verbal and written.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in making recommendations, exercising company decisions and carrying out essential job duties that affect efficient business operations and its objectives, policies, practices, and conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • Experience with SAP system preferred.
  • Knowledge of stamping die technology preferred.
