ER & CC Veterinary Technicians play a vital role in the daily operations of Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (AVES). They are essential in supporting our practitioners, ensuring the highest quality of patient care, and maximizing the efficiency of the medical team. By handling technical tasks and managing administrative responsibilities, technicians enable our practitioners to focus fully on medical priorities and deliver exceptional care. Austin Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center (AVES) has proudly served the Austin pet community for 11 years, delivering exceptional, compassionate care when it matters most. As a thriving 24/7/365 veterinary hospital, we offer a comprehensive range of specialty services including Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Interventional Radiology—and now, an exciting addition: a fully integrated Oncology Cancer Center, providing both medical and radiation oncology. AVES has officially relocated to a brand-new, 45,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility just 2.6 miles from our original location. Requirements
- Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistants with at least 3 years of Emergency experience, dedicated to providing outstanding client service and excellent patient care.

Responsibilities
- Restrain pets, prepare/administer medications, and assist in exams, procedures, and surgeries.
- Monitor anesthesia, provide supportive therapy, and teach clients how to administer treatments.
- Prepare patients for discharge and communicate status updates to the care team and clients.
- Record patient histories, treatments, and procedures accurately for invoicing and records.
- Complete necessary paperwork and maintain detailed progress notes.
- Schedule procedures, relay accurate information to clients, and seek help when needed.
- Perform lab procedures and collect/prep samples for analysis.
- Operate and maintain radiography units and diagnostic software.
- Maintain and report issues with medical equipment; restock and manage supplies.
- Clean and sterilize instruments, maintain hospital cleanliness, and assist with patient hygiene.
