About The Position

This position performs a variety of office and interactive duties. Incumbents will have an option of four different areas to work in one of the following capacities: External Outreach Coordinator, Student Dialogue Facilitator, Communications and Social Media Specialist, and Student Clubs/Organization Liaison.

Requirements

  • Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term
  • Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better
  • Have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.
  • Requires knowledge of general clerical and reception practices.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, and email.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with a variety of people.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to work cooperatively and independently with attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Requires good organization and planning skills.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Provide outstanding student/campus customer support/service.
  • Must be able to communicate with faculty, staff and students, work well independently and with others.
  • Ability to interact sensitively and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Comfortable interacting with and supporting diverse individuals, confident representing LBCC and OIEDI internally and externally.
  • Proactive; shows willingness to take initiative.

Nice To Haves

  • External Outreach Coordinator- bilingual in Spanish.
  • Strong interpersonal/bilingual, and public speaking skills to interact/serve Latinx/ BIPOC K-12 students, families, and communities.
  • Student Dialogue Facilitator- high level of interpersonal communication skills and self awareness.
  • Experience leading topical dialogues/conversations.
  • Communications and Social Media Specialist- organized, team-oriented, reliable, high-level interpersonal communications skills and the ability to incorporate constructive feedback.
  • Strong social media expertise, including content creation, email marketing (i.e., MailChimp), Instagram, and related social media outlets.
  • Student Clubs/Organization Liaison- strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaborative relationships with student clubs/organizations and LBCC personnel.
  • Social media skills to support overall social media/communication needs.
