About The Position

In this summer internship, you’ll support the Equity and Inclusion team in preparing for key equity initiatives and professional development programs that will take place during the school year. You’ll help create materials and manage logistical components for the E&I team’s various workshops and trainings, prepare network-wide communications, and conduct research on relevant equity issues, gaining hands-on experience in DEI-focused project work. This role provides a unique opportunity to learn about equity and inclusion in action while contributing to meaningful initiatives that support KIPP DC students, staff, and school leaders.This is a non-exempt position and will report to the Director of Equity & Inclusion.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program (at least 1 year completed.)
  • Ability to travel across KIPP DC schools to help support summer professional development sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, organizing, and preparing materials and logistics for upcoming professional development sessions and equity initiatives.
  • Create and compile handouts, guides, and other materials to support school-year programs.
  • Help track program participation, engagement, and other details to support the team’s ongoing initiatives.
  • Assist with scheduling, communications, and other prep work to ensure smooth execution of school-year initiatives.

  • Interns are eligible to work up to 30 hours per week, providing flexibility to balance your work and personal life.
  • Please note that the program will follow the KIPP DC HDQ holiday calendar which includes two unpaid holidays: Juneteenth (June 19) and the 4th of July observation (July 3), giving you time to celebrate and recharge.
