Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking Equipment & Tool Engineers in North Charleston, SC. The selected candidate will join our Emergent Operations Team. Additionally, the selected candidate will align with specific areas within our Equipment & Tool Engineering Function, including Asset Engineering, Integration and Systems, Software and Controls, Stress and Structural, or Electrical Systems. Our Team is currently hiring for a range of experience levels including Associate, Mid-Level, or Senior Equipment & Tool Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accredited course of study in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Aerospace, Physics, Mathematics).
  • 2 or more years of experience working in a production and/or manufacturing environment.
  • 1 or more years of experience using Microsoft Office and office computing systems.
  • This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Model Based Definition, CATIA, ENOVIA and PDM.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience providing product definitions and technical support to groups, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, analyzes and modifies aerospace manufacturing equipment and tooling that meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Researches, develops, evaluates and integrates robotics, automation, and new technologies and processes related to equipment and tooling for applicability to programs and products.
  • Teams with cross-functional subject matter experts to develop and review bids and procurement specifications.
  • Estimates, plans, manages and executes the acquisition and modification of equipment and tooling.
  • Develops and implements testing and acceptance to validate performance.
  • Creates and maintains related documentation for equipment and tooling, develops preventative maintenance plans and trains personnel as needed.
  • Develops and implements interim solutions for damaged and unsafe equipment and tooling.
  • Investigates engineering changes and controls equipment and tooling configuration in accordance with company procedures.
  • Develops and recommends equipment reliability improvements through the application of reliability engineering tooling.
