As an Equipment Technician, you will support safe, reliable, and efficient operation of polyol manufacturing equipment at BASF Wyandotte Polyol, working closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure asset integrity and consistent product quality. Requirements

  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training in mechanical or industrial maintenance are a plus.
  • Have strong mechanical aptitude with 2+ years of experience working on industrial process equipment (chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing preferred).
  • Possess working knowledge of pumps, seals, heat exchangers, instrumentation, piping systems, and rotating equipment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read technical drawings, equipment manuals, and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Exhibit strong safety awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bring experience with preventative maintenance programs, condition monitoring, or SAP Plant Maintenance (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on polyol production equipment including pumps, agitators, tanks, filters, instrumentation, and transfer systems.
  • Execute preventative and predictive maintenance tasks to ensure safe and reliable operation of polyol processing assets.
  • Support shutdowns, turnarounds, and equipment rebuilds by preparing, maintaining, and restoring polyol equipment to operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with operators, planners, and engineers to identify equipment issues, develop solutions, and improve long-term asset performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including equipment history, parts usage, and maintenance feedback into SAP.
  • Ensure compliance with all site safety policies, process safety requirements, and environmental standards.
