About The Position

This is a full-time, day shift position with standard hours from 7:00am until 3:30pm, located at University Hospital. The Equipment Technician inspects, repairs, troubleshoots, and performs preventative maintenance on equipment, which may also include plumbing, pipefitting, and work on other fluid related systems. The role involves evaluating and recommending equipment improvements to enhance availability, capability, and yield. Technicians are responsible for identifying and properly reporting all potential and existing problems encountered through the work order system. They may also track and distribute equipment throughout the hospitals and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Requires a working knowledge of electricity and is able to diagnose and repair electrical problems.
• Requires ability to read and interpret information from blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
• Requires current knowledge of various federal, state, local, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and Joint Commission codes and regulations.
• Requires a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
• Requires familiarity with troubleshooting techniques, inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Requires familiarity with basic hand and machine tools, soldering, designated preventive maintenance and other test equipment.
