Job Summary Equipment Shop Technicians responsibilities include inspecting and diagnosing diesel engines and related systems (brakes, transmission, electrical, hydraulics, engine, tracks), performing routine maintenance like oil changes and filter replacements, repairing or replacing faulty parts, and conducting test drives to ensure proper function. They also use diagnostic tools, adhere to safety regulations, and communicate with shop managers about necessary repairs.  This position involves working with heavy equipment. Applicants must have experience operating, maintaining, or repairing large-scale machinery from major industry manufacturers (e.g., excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and similar types of heavy equipment)

Requirements

  • 1-3 years Heavy Equipment Repair and Diagnostics experience
  • 1-3 years Heavy Equipment Maintenance and Repair experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of DEUTZ engine repair and diagnostics experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting physical inspections and visual checks of diesel vehicles and equipment.
  • Using diagnostic tools and computerized systems to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Interpreting diagnostic test results to pinpoint the cause of malfunctions.
  • Performing preventive maintenance, such as oil changes, filter and fluid checks.
  • Repairing or replacing worn-out or damaged components, including engines, transmissions, injectors, and cooling systems.
  • Addressing issues with critical vehicle systems like brakes, steering, and exhaust, electrical, hydraulics.
  • Conducting test drives to evaluate vehicle performance and verify repairs have been successful.
  • Ensuring emissions control systems and other components meet federal and state regulations.
  • Adhering to strict safety procedures and company policies while working.
  • Using power, machine, and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
