About The Position

Farwest Steel’s Operations Department seeks a knowledgeable and dependable individual to join their team as Equipment Operator. In this role, you will operate the Marvel Saw to support the metal processing equipment The goal is the on-time delivery of best-in-class parts that meet or exceed customer expectations, while actively managing machine maintenance schedules and workflows to maximize throughput.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Basic mathematical computation skills
  • Ability to use a tape measure and micrometer

Nice To Haves

  • Previous steel processing experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Overhead crane experience/certification preferred
  • Forklift experience/certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operation of Marvel Saw cutting equipment in a safe, efficient manner
  • Review, comprehension, and execution of batches/work instructions, communicating and rectifying any discrepancies prior to initiating cut program
  • Verify material in accordance with customer expectations and company procedures
  • Perform first-article and in-production inspections to ensure customer specifications are met or exceeded.
  • Process, mark and bundle/package jobs in accordance with work instructions
  • Accurately and completely complete batch paperwork
  • Actively manage daily cut schedule to maximize throughput of jobs through the station
  • Perform all duties with the utmost regard for personal, co-worker, and customer safety
  • Maintain a clean, 5S workstation at all times
