They work with a wide variety of metals including copper, aluminum, brass, and stainless steel, recycling them into more than 200 different types of new sustainable raw materials. The Equipment Operator uses various heavy machinery to load, unload, and transport scrap metal materials within the yard. Equipment includes forklifts, front-end loaders, material handlers, and excavators. This role also involves promoting a safe, secure, and healthy work environment while keeping equipment clean and well maintained.

Requirements

High level of customer service to the people we serve
Excellent attention to safety
Understanding of mechanics involving trucks and trailers
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
High School Diploma/GED

Nice To Haves

Previous heavy equipment experience preferred

Responsibilities

Safely operate heavy equipment including Fuchs Material Handler, forklift and more
Perform daily maintenance and inspections on equipment such as lubricating, fueling
Complete daily inspection reports
Equipment and site cleanup
Power wash equipment as needed
Other duties as assigned
